Portrait of a Friend 2 by King-Hauken Portrait of a Friend 2 by King-Hauken
Portrait of :iconstareon:

This is only my second attempt at drawing someone with my new tablet. I'm having some trouble with getting all the details in the face.

I said it before and I'll say it again: I really like the greyscale thing going here.

I had tons of trouble the very first time I used a tablet too. So I stopped using it because I came to rely on coloring with my mouse.

Now I've lost the pen to the tablet, so I can't even practice to get better at it until I find it. ;_;

I can see some really interesting details in the hair. I definitely think you should keep practicing with it (unlike stupid me). ^^;

You can buy extra pens btw if you need to replace yours.

Speaking of pens, I'm actually sending mine back in for a new one. It's very sensitive and causes me to click on things even though the pen is merely hovering over the pad.

Thanks for the comment, a lot of this drawing was done before the tablet arrived, so I'm curious how my drawings will turn out if they're made completely with the pen tool.

I'd figured that's what I'd end up doing (buying a new pen that is). -_-;

Hmmm...drawings done completely with the pen tool. There are websites for that, usually centering around "oekaki" or "tegaki". I tried to do an oekaki with just a mouse. It wasn't terrible...but it wasn't really that good either. ^^;

There's someone on Arwing Landing, Shaded Frost, she uses mouse and makes a lot of beautiful drawings. She's really good with choosing her colors too.
